JOEL KRANER, is a Partner and Senior Vice President at Whitney Capital Company, LLC, where he is responsible for sourcing and executing acquisition and development opportunities, leading equity capital raising efforts, structuring and placing debt, and overseeing investor relations as well as the operating performance of the firm’s multifamily portfolio. Mr. Kraner currently holds ownership interests in 17 multifamily properties totaling approximately 1,803 units, with an aggregate market value exceeding $240 million, in addition to a commercial asset valued at approximately $5 million.

Prior to joining Whitney Capital Company in 2013, Mr. Kraner held senior roles across acquisitions, asset management, and real estate finance. He served as Director of Acquisitions and Asset Management at The Winhaven Group, a boutique New York City real estate firm specializing in the redevelopment and repositioning of landmarked historic properties. Earlier in his career, Mr. Kraner originated and underwrote a broad range of commercial real estate debt products—including fixed- and floating-rate first mortgages, mezzanine loans, and bridge financing—while at Ladder Capital Corp. (NYSE: LADR) and Amalgamated Bank.

Mr. Kraner began his career at Kimco Realty Trust (NYSE: KIM), where he worked as an analyst and associate within Kimco Select Investments, the firm’s opportunistic investment platform, focusing on acquisitions, development, and dispositions. He also supported asset management activities within Kimco Realty Advisors, assisting in the oversight of large institutional joint-venture portfolios.

Mr. Kraner earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Finance from Virginia Tech. He was a four-year letterman on the Virginia Tech Varsity Golf Team and is a member of the National Housing & Rehabilitation Association.
